CLINICAL MENTAL HEALTH INTERN
About Lindsay
I am a Graduate student in my final year pursuing my MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Wake Forest University. I am a mother of two little ones, wife, advocate, and believer that obstacles are paths in the right direction.
My clinical training, research and life experiences lend themselves to a specialization in fertility challenges, birth and NICU trauma, perinatal mood disorders such as anxiety and depression, miscarriage and loss, and perinatal substance use.
CORE VALUES
Perseverance, Kindness, Courage, Creativity, & Forgiveness
What is it like to work with me?
I have a warm, open-hearted approach in building a therapeutic alliance. We will co-create goals together, and my hope is that I’ll offer you tools to help you feel better, perceive your situation differently and change your behavior. I am interested in addressing clients from a biopsychosocial perspective, and believe biological, psychological, and social components interact to contribute to a client’s well-being. While I’m still homing my approach as a clinician, I am most interested in blending several theories including Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy.
Why this work?
I made a mid-career transition from brand marketing in the startup wellness space in NYC. I worked for some pretty cool, exciting brands but contemplated my life mission and a quiet calling to become a therapist. When the Pandemic hit in 2020, I was 36 weeks pregnant with my son. I was forced to move away from what I knew and re-think my career. Soon after this experience, I lost my daughter, Caileigh, after giving birth to her. It was then that my mind and heart finally answered the call and I decided to begin my academic journey to become a psychotherapist. I am thrilled for the opportunity to help support this incredible community at The Alliance Center!
