About Kris
I can be a grounding force amid chaos. I am deeply empathic, and seek to support those navigating the joys, sorrows, beauty, and speed bumps that womanhood and motherhood can bring. I am also a reader, a writer, a lifelong learner, and a work in progress.
My entry into counseling is my second professional act, though it has been a passion my whole life. It feels authentic to who I am and how I have always wanted to show up in the world. Yet, I didn’t listen to the universe the first time she encouraged me to heed this calling; I’m a bit more stubborn than that. I worked for 16 years as a communications and events professional before making the leap and going back to school.
As a woman, wife, mother, friend, daughter, and student, I have learned this: Sometimes, it’s insight we seek as we are becoming. Other times, we may simply need support in navigating our challenges. Then there are the moments when we must challenge the systems that created that need. I’m here for all of it.
CORE VALUES
Kindness, Compassion, Laughter, Advocacy & Becoming
What is it like to work with me?
The phrase “be who you needed when you were younger” forever resonates with me—no matter what age I am. I will be your soft place to land. Through a trauma-informed perspective, I will employ a combination of therapeutic modalities to provide safety, comfort, affirmation, and a touch of humor to support you in your journey.
Why this work?
Since becoming a mom in 2013, I know I’m in good company when I say I have struggled to juggle. As I sought opportunities to create balance, find peace, and return to myself over the years, I have become acutely aware that there are many other women like me—and even more who lack the same access to support services and resources I have. Strengthening our mental and emotional health and fluency, developing language for expression, making space for our fullness, and ensuring access to quality care and resources only contribute to our superpowers and the beauty and sustainability of our communities. I want to be part of that movement.
