Kate Murphy

PERINATAL PSYCHOTHERAPIST

About Kate

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker that specializes in supporting mothers who are considering parenting, currently pregnant, or newly postpartum who have risk factors that could lead to or are currently experiencing symptoms of a perinatal mood and anxiety disorder (PMAD).

I guide mothers who are looking to gain insight and deepen connections as they move through this transformational stage of life. Whether you are looking for preventative support or to begin your healing journey, I am excited to meet you.

CORE VALUES

Curiosity, Bravery, Openness, & Connection

What is it like to work with me?

I integrate all aspects of health; mental, social, emotional, physical, and spiritual into my clinical practice. I work collaboratively to understand the past, develop insight in the present, and empower to achieve future goals. I am deeply curious about the unique life experiences that inform every individual's worldview. I integrate multiple perspectives while centering my clients in the context of the complex systems that are implicit in our society.

Why this work?

With mental health challenges and neurodiversity woven across my family history, I am drawn to understand the protective factors that buffer the potential impacts of adversity. I enjoy the dynamic nature of clinical practice and thinking deeply through human connection. The perinatal period is a critical time to support mother, baby, and their relationship to each other.
